Wedding Photography: Understanding Contrapposto Pose

Photographed faces and slim bodies are all around us, making us think we should look like them. Have you ever noticed when photographing yourself or your loved ones, some women always look good? If so, you’ll discover issues so subtle you may not understand them. Regardless of the bride’s size or weight, you want her to be happier with her photos, which isn’t necessarily easy. Wedding Photography

photographyExcellent wedding photographers understand the tricks. I’ve seen brides in strapless gowns that had little rolls in the back below their shoulder blades. You know she doesn’t want to reveal that in the photos. Some brides choose sleeveless dresses if they have longer than average arms, which is not flattering. An excellent celebration is nice, but decades later the party won’t be what they want to remember; it will be the photos that trigger the second. Keeping this fact in mind, here are some tips for making great poses for your bride.

Contrapposto Pose

photographyFrom openings in the shape of the breasts, to stretch marks or discoloration on the abdomen, to changes in the skin or hair, they are made to feel that these changes are unattractive or that they have lost the “sexy body” they had. How can one person’s body not change while another grows inside of them? When you stand in front of the camera and smile, it looks natural, but it’s not flattering. Automatically, the buttocks tilt too much; one up and one down. To compensate, we naturally lean in to edit our shoulders differently, and voila: contrasted.

However, the “flaws” are a combination of strengths. The blisters of hard work and athleticism, the scars of injuries and hard times, the wrinkles in the skin of a life well-lived are things to be recognized and not hidden. Combined with a glamorous photoshoot, this creates a celebration. The advertising and press that surround us constantly create unrealistic beauty expectations for women and make them feel bad or not good enough. But when you feel beautiful and comfortable in your skin during the session and see beautiful photos of yourself afterward, it’s a huge confidence boost.

Women’s Best Feature

When you analyze the gorgeous images and realize how beautiful every part you thought was a flaw is, you can’t help but be filled with admiration and respect. And capturing that personality on camera is powerful and bold. So, what is the best and most feminine feature of a woman? Well, it’s usually the chest. However, you can’t see the feature if the woman is standing to the right of the camera. Have her turn her hip towards the camera so you get a 3/4 perspective and also her whole knee so the camera sees the best angle. That’s excellent, you’ve pretty much got it.
