  Annalena Venneri      
  Annalena Venneri started her University education, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Modena, Italy. Her interests, however, were outside of mainstream medicine and she extended her University education studying Psychology at the University of Padua where she gained a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and a further qualification in Neuropsychology and Psychophysiology. She developed her research interest in the study of dementia, especially Alzheimer’s disease (AD), while working in the Departments of Neurology at the Universities of Modena and Parma. In 1994 she moved to a Lecturing post at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland where she also completed a PhD. In 2003 she was appointed to a Chair in Neuropsychology and Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Hull in England. She is member of the editorial board of the journals Medical Science Monitor, Acta Neuropsychiatrica and Psicologica and of the Bioinformatics Training and Career Development Panel of the Medical Research Council. Her research interests are in early and differential diagnosis of dementia, pharmacoimaging, biological and cognitive mechanisms underlying psychotic symptoms in AD. She has published extensively in high impact neuropsychology, neurology and neuroscience journals.
