  Francesca Tinti è nata a Roma il 14 giugno 1971. Dopo essersi laureata nel 1995 a Bologna in Lingue e Letterature Straniere Moderne, ha conseguito nel 1997 il Diploma in Paleografia, Diplomatica ed Archivistica presso l’Archivio di Stato di Modena e nel 2000 il Dottorato di Ricerca in Storia della Chiesa medievale presso l’Università di Padova. Nel luglio dello stesso anno ha iniziato un post-dottorato nel Dipartimento di Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic dell’Università di Cambridge (UK), dove per più di quattro anni ha lavorato come Research Associate a un progetto denominato Prosopography of Anglo-Saxon England (www.pase.ac.uk) sotto la direzione dei Professori Simon Kenyes (Trinity College, Cambridge) e Jinty Nelson (King’s College London). A Cambridge ha anche insegnato Storia Anglosassone e Storia della Chiesa Inglese Alto-Medievale. Nel 2002 ha vinto una Junior Research Fellowship presso il Wolfson College di Cambridge e nel 2005 la stessa Università di Cambridge le ha assegnato il Master of Arts. Nel 2005 ha anche ottenuto un finanziamento dalla British Academy per ultimare la sua ricerca relativa alla cura d’anime nella diocesi di Worcester nei secoli X-XI e nello stesso anno è stato pubblicato dalla casa editrice Boydell and Brewer il volume da lei curato, dal titolo ‘Pastoral Care in Late Anglo-Saxon England’. Dopo aver vinto il Concorso denominato ‘Rientro dei Cervelli’, nell’agosto 2005 è tornata a Bologna, dove insegna Storia dell’Inghilterra Medievale nei corsi di laurea triennale e specialistica della Facoltà di Lingue e Letterature Straniere. Al momento sta terminando un altro libro sulla storia della Chiesa di Worcester nel X e XI secolo e si sta dedicando al suo nuovo progetto di ricerca, relativo ai rapporti tra l’Inghilterra e l’Italia nell’alto medioevo.

Francesca Tinti was born in Rome on 14 June 1971. After graduating in Foreign Languages at the University of Bologna in 1995, she obtained a Diploma in Palaeography, Diplomatic and Archive Studies from the ‘Archivio di Stato di Modena’ in 1997 and subsequently, in the year 2000, a PhD in Medieval Church History from the University of Padua. In July 2000 she moved to Cambridge (UK) to work for more than four years as Research Associate in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic for the Project called ‘Prosopography of Anglo-Saxon England’ (www.pase.ac.uk), under the direction of Professors Simon Keynes (Trinity College, Cambridge) and Jinty Nelson (King’s College London). In Cambridge she also taught Anglo-Saxon History and Anglo-Saxon Church History. In 2002 she obtained a Junior Research Fellowship at Wolfson College, Cambridge and in 2005 she was awarded the Master of Arts by the University of Cambridge. In the same year she was also awarded a grant by the British Academy to finalise her research on pastoral care in the tenth- and eleventh-century diocese of Worcester, and she had her edited volume on ‘Pastoral Care in Late Anglo-Saxon England’ published by Boydell and Brewer. After applying successfully for the “Rientro dei Cervelli” Programme, in August 2005 she returned to Bologna, where she teaches Medieval English History at both undergraduate and graduate level in the Faculty of Foreign Languages. She is currently finishing her book on the history of the church of Worcester in the tenth and eleventh centuries and she is also conducting research on her new project entitled ‘England and Italy in the Early Middle Ages’.
