	Luca Schenato
	Luca Schenato è nato il 28 Aprile 1974 a Treviso. Si è laureato in Ingegneria Elettronica presso l’Università degli Studi di Padova il 13 Luglio 1999. Nell’estate del 1999 si è iscritto al programma di Ph.D. nel Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences presso l’Università della California a Berkeley, conseguendo il titolo il 18 Dicembre. Durante questo periodo il Dott. Schenato ha ottenuto il Management of Technology Certificate dalla Haas Business School di U.C. Berkeley, un programma di master avanzato di marketing, entrepreneurship, e trasferimento di tecnologia. Dal Gennaio 2004 all’Agosto 2004 è rimasto come postdoctoral scholar presso l’Intelligent Machines and Robotics Laboratory di U.C. Berkeley. Dal Settembre 2004 fa parte del gruppo di Automatica del Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione in qualità di Professore a Contratto ottenuto tramite il programma del MIUR “Ritorno dei Cervelli”. Attualmente collabora attivamente all’interno del suo dipartimento sia nella programmazione didattica sia nelle attività di ricerca. In particolare, il Dott. Schenato è titolare dei corsi di “Laboratorio di Controlli 1” e “Progettazione di Sistemi di Controllo” per la Laurea in Ingegneria dell’Automazione, ed è relatore di numerosi tesisti. Inoltre, è il promotore e coordinatore del progetto sponsorizzato dalla Unione Europea Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant “SENSNET”, indirizzato allo studio di applicazioni di controllo di reti di sensori wireless. Attualmente i suoi interessi di ricerca riguardano le reti di sensori wireless, la robotica coordinata, i sistemi di controllo interconnessi e sistemi di locomozione biomimetici. Il Dott. Schenato è stato premiato con il 2006 Eli Jury Award, premio dato dal Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, U.C. Berkeley, U.S.A. con la seguente motivazione “for outstanding research achievements in the area of systems, communications, control and signal processing”, ed è stato finalista come “best student paper” alle conferenze internazionali IEEE CDC’03 e IEEE ICRA’03. Luca Schenato was born in the vicinity of Treviso, Italy, in 1974. He graduated with a Laurea degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padova in 1999. In summer 1999 he enrolled the Ph.D. program in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California at Berkeley, from which he graduated in December 2003. During this period he also received the Management of Technology Certificate from the Hass Business School at UC Berkeley, a special graduate program focusing on marketing, entrepreneurship and technology transfer. From January 2004 till August 2004 he continued to work at U.C. Berkeley in the Intelligent Machines and Robotics Laboratory as a post-doctoral scholar. In September 2004 he joined the Control Systems Group in the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova as Adjunct Professor with the support of the Researchers Mobility Fellowship (aka "Ritorno dei Cervelli") sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). Currently he is actively collaborating within his department in terms of both teaching and research activities. In particular, he teaches the classes “Laboratory of control systems 1” and “ Design of control systems” within the degree program in Automation Engineering, and supervises several graduating students. Moreover, he is the promoter and coordinator of the project “SENSNET”, sponsored by the European Community Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant, aimed at studying control applications of wireless sensor networks. His current interests include wireless sensor networks, networked control systems, coordinated robotics, and biomimetic locomotion. He was awarded the 2006 Eli Jury Award, from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, U.C. Berkeley for outstanding research achievements in the area of systems, communications, control and signal processing. He was also finalist for best student paper at the international conferences IEEE CDC’03 and IEEE’03.
