	Fabrizio Nevola
	Nato a Roma nel 1970, Fabrizio Nevola, si è laureato con lode al University College, Oxford in storia e letteratura. Ha conseguito successivamente un M.A. in storia dell’architettura dal Courtauld Institute of Art con una tesi sui progetti di Baldassarre Peruzzi e Sebastiano Serlio per palazzi. Sempre al Courtauld Institute ha conseguito il Ph.D. in storia dell’arte nel 1998 con un lavoro sulla storia urbana ed architettonica di Siena nel 1400-1550. Ha insegnato al Courtauld Institute, a Syracuse University, e presso la University of Warwick (UK). Ha avuto borse di ricerca presso il Medici Archive Project (Firenze), il Canadian Centre for Architecture (Montreal) e Villa I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies (Firenze), ed è anche stato nominato per un Getty Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. La sua ricerca si concentra sulla storia architettonica e urbana dell’Italia del rinascimento, con una particolare visione antropologico-sociale. Fra i suoi ambiti di ricerca figurano l’uso rituale e cerimoniale dello spazio pubblico cittadino nella prima età moderna, la “cultura materiale” del Rinascimento, e la narrativa rinascimentale volta a descrivere contesti urbani. È stato membro del Comitato Nazionale nominato per il VI centenario di papa Pio II Piccolomini, coordinando, fra l’altro un convegno internazionale a Siena. Ha pubblicato numerosi saggi in italiano, inglese e francese (e.g. Art Bulletin, 2000, Renaissance Studies, 2003, Annali di Architettura 2006) oltre a recensioni (Burlington Magazine) e ha un libro di prossima pubblicazione dal titolo Architecture and Government in Renaissance Siena: Fashioning Urban Experience (1400-1555) [Yale University Press]. Born in Rome in 1970, Fabrizio Nevola received a First Class Honours Degree in the Honour School of Modern History and Italian from University College, Oxford, continuing his studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art where he received a M.A. in Architectural History, with a thesis on Baldassarre Peruzzi and Sebastiano Serlio’s palace designs. He completed his studies in 1998 with a Ph.D. from the Courtauld Institute with a thesis on urban and architectural history of Siena. He has taught at the Courtauld Institute, Syracuse University, and the University of Warwick (UK). He has held fellowships at the Medici Archive Project (Florence), the Canadian Centre for Architecture (Montreal) and Villa I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies (Florence), and was also awarded a Getty Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. His research focus is on the architectural and urban history of Renaissance Italy. Special interests include the ritual use of public space in the Early Modern period, the “material” Renaissance, as well as narrative descriptions of urban contexts. He was a member of the 2004-6 national committee for the VI centenary celebrations for Pope Pius II. He has published numerous articles (e.g. Art Bulletin, 2000 and Renaissance Studies, 2003) as well as reviews (Burlington Magazine) and has a book forthcoming entitled Architecture and Government in Renaissance Siena: Fashioning Urban Experience (1400-1555) with Yale University Press.
