	Augusto Nascetti
	Nato a Terni il 5 Novembre 1971, ha conseguito la laurea con lode in Ingegneria Elettronica presso l'Università di Roma "La Sapienza" nel 1996 con una tesi su fototransistori in silicio amorfo idrogenato. Nel 2000 ha ricevuto presso la stessa Università il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Ingegneria Elettronica con un lavoro su sensori di radiazione infrarossa a film sottile. Durante il Dottorato ha svolto un periodo di ricerca presso l'Interface Physics Department dell'Università di Utrecht (NL) occupandosi di transistori a film sottile ad alta stabilità. Nel 2000 è assunto come Ricercatore presso il gruppo Imaging Systems dei laboratori di Ricerca Philips ad Aachen in Germania. Qui la sua attività di ricerca è stata focalizzata su sistemi di immagine a larga area per uso medicale basati su radiazioni ionizzanti. In particolare la sua attività si è estesa dallo studio delle proprietà fisiche di materiali per la rivelazione di raggi X alla progettazione ed analisi, a livello di sistema, di detector per uso medicale. Con il suo lavoro ha contribuito attivamente alla comprensione dei meccanismi fisici coinvolti nella generazione dei segnali consentendo l'ottimizzazione delle prestazioni del detector. In questo contesto ha proposto architetture innovative sia per l'intero sistema che per singole parti di esso, generando più di dieci brevetti internazionali. Da Giugno 2004 è rientrato in Italia presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettronica dell'Università di Roma "La Sapienza" nell’ambito del Programma "Rientro dei Cervelli" con un suo progetto di ricerca riguardante la realizzazione di detector ibridi a larga area. Attualmente tiene il corso di Elettronica Applicata per la Laurea Specialistica in Ingegneria Meccanica ed il corso di Laboratorio Interdisciplinare per la Laurea di Primo Livello in Ingegneria Elettronica per la sede di Latina ed è inoltre relatore di numerose tesi di Laurea. Born in Terni on November 5th 1971, he graduated cum laude in electronic engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1996 with a thesis on hydrogenated amorphous silicon phototransistors. He received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the same university in 2000 with a work on thin/film infrared photosensors. When in Rome, his research activity was focused on the modeling and characterization of amorphous silicon sensors. During his doctorate, he spent four months at Interface Physics Department of the Utrecht University (NL) working on the study of the stability of amorphous silicon Thin Film Transistors (TFT) deposited using Hot-Wire CVD technique. In 2000, he joined the Imaging Systems group at Philips Research Laboratories in Aachen, Germany. There he worked on X-ray detectors for medical imaging. His research activity covered several topics ranging from the study of the physical properties of materials for X-ray detection to the analysis of system-level aspects of the complete imager. He actively contributed to the understanding of the physical mechanisms involved in the signal building chain as well as to the optimisation of detector performances. In these contexts, he proposed innovative detector architectures and advanced pixel circuits generating more than ten Philips patent applications. In June 2004, he joined the department of Electronic Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Rome, Italy as Adjunct Professor with the support of the Researchers Mobility Fellowship ("Rientro dei Cervelli") sponsored by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR). In this framework, he is Scientific Responsible of a research project aiming to evaluate novel large/area detector/technologies. He teaches the course "Applied Electronics" for the specialized degree in Mechanical Engineering and the course "Interdisciplinary Laboratory" for the 3-year degree in Electronic Engineering. He is thesis advisor of numerous students.
