	Sylvie Braibant
	Nata a Mons (Belgio) il 3 settembre 1963. Ha ottenuto la "Licence en Sciences Physiques" nel 1985 all'Universita' di Mons-Hainaut. Ha conseguito il Ph.D. in Fisica con "La Plus Grande Distinction" all'Universita' di Mons-Hainaut nel 1992 discutendo la tesi "“Search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson in e+e- Collisions at LEP with the DELPHI Detector”. Vincitrice di una Fellowship presso il CERN di Ginevra dal 1989 al 1991, ha in seguito lavorato come Maitre Assistant all'Universita' di Mons-Hainaut dal 1991 al 1993 e poi come Research Associate presso l'Universita' di Indiana (USA) dal 1994 al 1997 . Ha vinto un concorso per un posto come Research Physicist presso il CERN dal 1997 al 2003. Dal 2004 e' Professore a Contratto con il programma Rientro dei Cervelli presso il Dipartimento di Fisica dell'Universita' di Bologna dove insegna il corso di Fisica delle Particelle Elementari. Si e' sempre occupata di studi di particelle elementari con macchine acceleratrici di alta energia. In particolare ha svolto ricerche sull'esistenza del bosone di Higgs del Modello Standard e sulla produzione di particelle supersimmetriche in collisioni elettrone-positrone partecipando agli esperimenti DELPHI e OPAL all'acceleratore LEP del CERN. Attualmente sta proseguendo i suoi studi con collisioni protone-protone di altissima energia partecipando all'esperimento CMS all'acceleratore LHC del CERN. Ha pubblicato piu' di 390 articoli su riviste internazionali e ha presentato relazioni su invito a numerose conferenze internazionali. E' stata relatrice di vari studenti di laurea e di dottorato in Fisica in Italia e negli USA. Sylvie Braibant was born in Mons (Belgium) on september 3rd, 1963. She obtained the Master in Physics in 1985 at the University of Mons-Hainaut. She obtained the Ph.D. in Physics with the mark "La Plus Grande Distinction" at the University of Mons-Hainaut in 1992 discussing the thesis "Search for the Standard Model Higgs Boson in e+e- Collisions at LEP with the DELPHI Detector”. Winner of a fellowship at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland) from 1989 to 1991, she then worked as Maitre Assistant at the University of Mons-Hainaut from 1991 to 1993 and then as Research Associate at the Indiana University (USA) from 1994 to 1997. She then became Research Physicist at CERN from 1997 to 2003. Since 2004 she is Adjunct Professor with the program Rientro dei Cervelli at the Physics Department of the University of Bologna where she teaches Elementary Particle Physics. She has performed studies on elementary particles produced at high-energy accelerators. In particular she has performed searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson and for supersymmetric particles produced in electron-positron collisions working with the DELPHI and OPAL experiments at the LEP accelerator at CERN. She is now pursuing her studies with proton-proton collisions at the highest energies available with the CMS experiment at the LHC accelerator at CERN. She has published more than 390 papers on international journals and has given invited talks at several international conferences. She has been thesis advisor of undergraduate and graduate students in Italy and in the USA.
